With an extensive music business and performance background that’s taken her everywhere from Columbia Records to the Grammy Awards, Christine’s passion for the industry is evident in everything she does. She is a seasoned vocalist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business & Management from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and a member of The Recording Academy, ASCAP, and the Berklee Alumni Association. In addition to creating The Pop Music Academy, Christine is an author for Sonicbids, an Alumni Ambassador for Berklee, and the President & Executive Director of Hope in Harmony, Inc. – a 501(c)(3) organization she founded to bring health and healing to those in need.
Christine’s interest in the performing arts started at a very young age. During her time growing up in Stamford, CT, she actively pursued singing, dancing, acting, and modeling – appearing in videos, print ads, TV, fundraisers, theatre, film, and many stages around the region. After receiving a vocal scholarship to Berklee, Christine moved to Boston where she continued pursuing her artistry and found her inspiration for the music business. While in college, she learned from and performed with some of the best in the business in a variety of mediums. Some of these opportunities included headlining venues around New England, performing with Michael McDonald, Mavis Staples, and Chucho Valdes at the Berklee Commencement Concert in the 7,000-seat BU Agganis Arena, and acting in a feature film alongside Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
After several internships in the music business, Christine knew she had found her calling and landed her dream job at Sony Music Entertainment/Columbia Records, where she explored the world of digital marketing and A&R. But it was only a short time later when the music and entrepreneurial itch kicked back in. Christine was determined to create her own path where she could combine both her love of music with her business education – so as any fiercely ambitious 22-year-old does fresh out of college, she started her own business. Fast forward years later, and The Pop Music Academy has now grown to be a top destination for superior music education and artist development training, complete with a 2-floor loft state-of-the-art facility, stage performance space, professional recording studio on-site, over a dozen incredibly talented teaching artists, and an ever-growing roster of students from all over the tri-state area.
Through her work with the young people at The Pop Music Academy, Christine developed a strong sense of purpose with giving back to her community. So after many years of helping to raise funds for the music therapy program at the local hospital, Christine was inspired to create her own nonprofit organization to use music to help those in need, and Hope in Harmony was born.
Though the music business and nonprofit work joyfully takes up most of her days now, Christine still enjoys performing as a vocalist with various local bands and works regularly as a session vocalist in the NYC area. She believes the mantra, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” has served her well and empowers all of her students to strive for the same.
